Q: What is TAA compliance?

A: TAA compliance requires that the U.S. Government acquires only U.S. - made or certain “designated country” end products.

Q: How many countries are TAA compliant?

A: Right now there are 125 countries, updates are available.

Q: How does a product considered as TAA compliant?

A: A product should be substantially transformed, (see US code section 1304) the term means that the item underwent a fundamental change

Q: How to ensure that the product is substantially transformed?

A: If 50% of the product is manufactured in the United States or in a TAA designated country, you don’t have to worry because you are TAA compliant. Due to certain products required to be assembled in several countries that where TAA compliance becomes murkier. (refer to FAR 25.001 (c))

Q: Who needs TAA compliant products?

A: The U.S. Government was required to only obtain products and services that were made in the United State or end products from TAA Compliant countries.
